If someone says "Don't do something," I won't do it.
I don't plan on mentioning it. I don't want someone with a knife with your name on it banging on your door saying "Give us the weed." --But I do get chased for insincere and very specious reasons. And sometimes real reasons, but the person is grossly overreacting. Your reputation is going to be hurt if you openly protect me in that instance.
Would you defend me like you would someone else in your flock?
