That's the gist of it, I think. The passage talks about how the book is only meant for the eyes of the Priest, but something about time returning to the faithful Shepherd's dog will make it interpretable again.
I'd say something about if it was a lie, my trust would be hurt, but, then, I guess there was nothing really world-shattering in there, so why lie about it?
